Governors
Message from the Chair of Governors
“On behalf of the Governing Body, a warm welcome to Oldfleet Primary School.
Here, governors, staff, parents and children work as a team, and we understand that communication is vitally important when working together. I hope that this website provides some useful information and a sense of life at Oldfleet Primary School.
The team of governors are volunteers who give their time to ensure that the long term vision and school policies are followed carefully to ensure that the children are inspired to learn in a safe, happy, creative and challenging environment. The Governing Body has a range of duties and responsibilites to enable them to hold the senior leaders to account, seek external views of the school and use a range of information to set the strategic direction. Parent governors are a very important part of our team, if you are interesed in becoming a governor or would like to contact us, we would be very happy to hear from you.”
Kind regards

My roots are in East Hull, I was born here, went to school here and spent 37 years out of a teaching career of 41 working in local schools.
I started volunteering as a governor in 2013 and am now on 3 governing bodies, I am learning all the time and enjoy working hard for young children and their families.
I currently look after my grandchildren three days per week, the eldest attends a primary school and this certainly gives me a greater insight into a parent/ carer's perspective.

I work full-time for BBC Look North’s technical team and volunteer regularly for the Hull and East Yorkshire Children’s University. I am part of several working groups to encourage and enable young people to find and develop careers within the media industry. I am very proud to be a Co-Opted Governor at Oldfleet School; of all the schools HEYCU work with this is definitely a favourite.

I have taught in Hull for fourteen years across all three primary stages. I truly love my job!
Helping raise children's self-esteem and giving them the skills to better themselves is a privilege.
This is my fifth year teaching at Oldfleet Primary School and I still marvel at the enthusiasm, talent and potential that comes through our doors each day.
During my time at Oldfleet, I have worked hard to be involved with as many aspects of the school community as possible, from leading Science to celebrating local festivals, supervising overnight trips and overseeing Shakespeare productions.
Most recently, I have taken on the role of leading English which will now give me the opportunity to support teachers in their teaching of Phonics, Reading and Writing while also sharing a love of reading and stories through themed days and our new library.
I’m looking forward to being part of the school’s blossoming future.
